Women’s national team celebrates Mothers’ Day

While the Malawi national women’s football team is in camp in preparation for the international friendly against Tanzania on October 24 at Civo Stadium, the team has joined the nation to celebrate Mother’s Day today October 15 2015.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) too has wished all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day. “FAM also takes this opportunity to wish all women footballers, especially those in camp now preparing for an international friendly match against Tanzania, a Happy Mother’s Day. Women football in Malawi has developed for the past 15 years. Today, over 2 000 girls in Malawi are playing football. The game is thriving at the grassroots level and I am truly proud of FAM’s work in the area of women’s football development and women’s competitions,” FAM general secretary Suzgo Nyirenda said yesterday.
