Police in Zomba have arrested three people suspected to have been involved in a robbery at Zomba Diocese offices which also accommodate Public Affairs Committee (PAC) spokesperson Father Peter Mulomole.

According to the information from police, two laptop computers have been recovered in the process. The suspects are said to be known criminals connected to several breakings in the city.

Eastern Region police spokesperson Joseph Sauka confirmed the development but refused to give more details.

Sauka said the arrested suspects have given police information that may lead to more arrests and “it is too early to divulge all the information for fear of alerting the other suspects.”

It is reported that robbers went away with K2.5 million cash, computers and other office equipment.

The robbery took place last Wednesday, a day before Pac delivered a statement to the media in Blantyre which described the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led administration as having failed to deliver.
