Angelo explains himself

Unsettled: Angello

An emotional Angelo told Biggie in his Diary session that the fighting over the weekend and all the commotion has made him a bit unsettled. And the fact that there were three nominations on Monday left him feeling disorientated.

When Biggie asked him why he chose the people he did for nominations, he said he nominated Elikem because he strongly felt that Elikem sees him as competition and he doesn’t believe in what Elikem stands for anymore because he was flaunting the fact that he is head of house in everyone’s faces.

He did admit that the Ghanaian tailor has admirable leadership qualities but is very arrogant and self-centered as well.

On Feza, he said the Tanzanian beauty is underhanded, conniving and a huge gossip that makes other people uncomfortable. Elikem in his nominations session had also nominated Feza purely because she approached him as soon as she realized that Elikem would be the next head of house. So as much as Biggie is warning housemates about conspiracies, some housemates like Feza are still plotting and planning to their advantage.

Angelo ended his session with an emotional speech where he told Biggie that he’s had to work hard to get what he wanted out of life.

“If I deserve to carry on with The Chase, I would deserve it on the basis that people respect who I represent as a person and not what I’ve done,” he said with tears in his eyes. Angelo has very deep values and he acknowledged that he doesn’t only represent himself but his country and African pride as well.

“If people are going to keep me in the house, I want to be a good representative of an African. I’m not going to do things to sell myself short of the person that I am,” he said in all seriousness. He strongly believes that whoever wins The Chase must be someone who represents Africa as a whole and not someone who just wins the money.—Dstv.Com

Now they are 9! As the going gets tougher

The Chase started with 28 housemates and today they are 9. No one would have guessed that the Chasemates left standing would be the ones holding the fort until now and who would have thought that the departed Chasemates would leave in that fashion?

South Africa’s Angelo, Nigeria’s Beverly, Ethiopia’s Bimp, Zambia’s Cleo, Namibia’s Dillish, Ghana’s Elikem, Tanzania’s Feza, Nigeria’s Melvin and Botswana’s Oneal all form the Big Brother The Chase Top 10.

Their journey hasn’t been easy and they have lost a lot of friends and lovers along the way. The likes of Elikem and Cleo formed strong relationships in the House with their Zimbabwean lovers; Pokello and Hakeem and they had to endure the sadness of seeing them go.

Also, having another countrymate in the game gives one strength and assurance that at least their country’s flag is being flown by two Housemates. However, everyone but Beverly and Melvin lost their countrymates in the game.

Cleo silently shed tear after tear as she tried internalising the reality of her brother Sulu leaving The Chase. “He taught me so much. It’s so rare to find someone like him that is not stingy with knowlegde,” Cleo cried.

Sulu and Annabel became the 17th and 18th Chasemates to bid the game farewell Sunday night. They were nominated alongside Elikem who managed to survive the chop by the skin of his teeth.

Then there were 9. It’s time to see if they deserve to be the Top 9 because the game only gets a lot tougher from here on.
