Archbishop Msusa thanked God for his blessings. He also thanked Mutharika for promoting education and freedom of worship, saying this has fostered unity among Malawians of different religious beliefs.

During the event, the President extended his condolences to families of those that have lost their loved ones in recent road accidents, advising road users to observe traffic regulations.

Mutharika also condemned people who resort to violence whenever they have grievances, advising chaos would not resolve any problems.
