Kalimba Band took patrons down memory lane with a sterling ‘golden oldies’ performance at Sunbird Capital in Lilongwe on Friday night. The setting was the 1960s through the 1990s—a throwback that had patrons reminiscing about the good old days when Afro hairdos, bell bottoms and maxi skirts were the in thing. Kalimba Band, dubbed the Comodores for the fluffy wigs they wore on the night, showed their versatility in coming up with cover versions of hits by Love Aquarius, New Scene, Makasu, Les Wanyika, Oliver Mtukudzi, Allan Namoko and Lucky Stars, among others.
