Age-old rivals Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers have stepped up the hype ahead of  Sunday’s TNM Super League Blantyre derby with a flurry of mind games.

The latest most sought after domestic fixture will be staged at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

Bullets assistant coach Eliah Kananji set the ball rolling by declaring that it will be payback time as the Nomads have dominated recent showdowns.

Kananji: It’s pay-back time

“They [Wanderers] have had an edge in recent games, now it’s our turn,” he said.

However, the Nomads team manager Steve Madeira spoke tough, saying their rivals are just playing some mind games.

“We don’t care what our neba is  saying. We are not even looking at his position and points in the league,  whether he has 16,  17,  18 or 19 points he knows that himself, but for sure I know he knows we are on 28 points from 11 outings.

“He is always poking his nose into our business. This league is slowly becoming ours to lose. We have him, then Silver Strikers are next. I will certainly come out next weekend and say we are running away with this one,” he said.

The Nomads sit pretty at the summit of the table with 28 points from 11 games while the People’s Team is trailing by 10 points on fourth position.

And while the Lali Lubani Road outfit claims that there are no special preparations and will head to the capital city on Saturday, their rivals’ general secretary Albert Chigoga said they would camp for the epic contest and were expected to depart for Lilongwe yesterday.
