Big Bullets players have said unless their demands are met, they will not fulfil their TNM Super League fixture against Moyale Barracks tomorrow.

As of yesterday morning, the players had not trained this week in protest about outstanding dues.

One of the senior players who asked for anonymity told Weekend Nationyesterday that they have not had time to tackle the issue of tomorrow’s game as the focus is on the matter at hand.

“We are not sure whether the game is on or not. We have not even discussed that because the priority is the issue about our outstanding dues,” he said.

The player also claimed that one of the club’s trustees Jim Kalua briefly met them Thursday morning and pleaded with them to resume training in preparation for the Moyale game.

“But we told him point blank that unless the executive committee addresses our grievances, we are not ready to play,” he said.

The club’s general secretary Higger Mkandawire met the players and he was told the same thing.

Mkandawire said they are currently negotiating for the release of the second tranche of their sponsorship from Carlsberg Malawi Limited..

“As I said, we spend quite a lot compared to the money that is invested into the team and we are appealing to the players understanding.

“It will be very unfortunate if they will not play,” said Mkandawire.
