BCC monitoring Midima Magistrate’s Court

Blantyre City Council (BCC) has said it is monitoring the current situation at Midima Magistrate’s Court in Limbe, following a warning that was written to the court to improve on their sanitation and hygiene.

Last month, the council warned the court that it risks being closed for not having functioning toilets, running taps and if the tall grass around the premises was not slashed.

BCC public relations manager Anthony Kasunda said the council is following with keen interest the improvements happening at the court.

Judiciary spokesperson, Mlenga Mvula, said in an interview today they are complying with what the council had ordered them to do.

He said: “so far we have done all the necessary requirements and what we are waiting for is reconnection of water supply at the court, we settled the bill which was due.”
