The Ministry of Tourism and Culture says the Bingu International Conference Centre (Bicc), venue for the 33rd Southern Africa Development Community (Sadc) summit in Lilongwe, is ready to host the regional meeting.

Principal secretary in the ministry, Tressa Senzani said the venue has been stocked with necessary facilities and other pertinent amenities required for occasions of such magnitude.

“It will start by hosting a meeting of the Council of Ministers and senior officials from August 10 to 16 before the Heads of State and Government Summit is conducted,” she said.

Senzani said the ministry has made sure that Bicc is furnished with quality furniture and audio visual gadgets that will support all the regional delegates.

“We have brought in office furniture for executive secretaries and chairperson, both outgoing and incoming in preparation for the summit,” said Senzani.

She said the ministry has procured new linen for the banqueting rooms at Bicc in addition to dressing staff that will serve the delegates with a new uniform.

Meanwhile government has established a website www.2013sadcsummitmalawi.mw  to afford the public access to information about the summit.
