The event on New Year’s Eve will provide a conducive environment for Blantyre City residents to relax and network as they count down to 2017.

BCC and its sponsors are calling on food providers and others to set up their stalls on the night. There will also be a live band and disco to entertain fans.

Mayor Noel Chalamanda said the council is happy to bring Blantyre City residents together through the event.

“This reflects the spirit and positive attitude of Blantyre. We have always said Blantyre City is not just a place, it is an attitude; Blantyre City is a way of life. This event will demonstrate that Blantyre City is on the path of regeneration.

“Blantyre City residents, both corporate and individuals, have resolved to walk together with their Council on this progressive path,” said Chalamanda. n
