Blaze, Mwanache in Sound and Light Festival

They might be young and simple in looks, but their influence on the country’s entertainment scene is too tempting to ignore.

This is the story of youthful musicians Blaze (real name Blessings Gwengwe) of Mwini Zinthu fame, a collaboration with Ril B, and Mwanache (Limbani Mlolo) who have earned a place in the Sound and Light concert.

Entertainers Promotions manager Tonderai Jai Banda confirmed having the duo on board by public demand.

He said: “We have to admit that pressure was mounting from our youthful supporters to include Blaze and Mwanache on the list of performers despite having already designed this year’s programme.”

Sound and Light concert is an annual event which provides local artists an international stage to advance their brand.

This year’s event takes place at Lilongwe Golf Club on September 4.

The two musicians join Lucius Banda, Black Missionaries, Skeffa Chimoto, Billy Kaunda, Lulu, Lambani Dube, Charles Nsaku and Anthony Makondetsa.

Apart from Mwini Zinthu, Blaze is famous for Sakumakana while Mwanache is famous for Wamisala Osagenda and Inkosi Gomani.

Blaze said young artists need big platforms like Sound and Light to showcase their talent.

“We will do our part to prove our value and I am grateful to the organisers for considering for the Sound and Light Concert,” he said.
