BT gets a feel of the Lawi experience

Blantyre fans were on Sunday afternoon treated to an electrifying performance by Lawi and his Mango Band in a concert dubbed Live Experience at Chichiri S h o p p i n g C e n t r e ’ s M-Theatre.

The concert was powered by Mawu Productions and gave Blantyre fans an exciting experience which was arguably value for their money.

In Malawi, building a strong brand that can attract the support of both fans and the corporate world is not an easy thing, especially in music circles.

Lawi proved to be a man of people and skills worth supporting as people from all walks of life patronised the event in large numbers.

Dressed in an all-white traditional attire and hat, Lawi spotted trendy and mesmerised fans for over two hours.

With Sam Mziya on bass guitar, Chicco Mbewe on drums, Sam Mkagula on piano, Faith Malemia strumming the guitar and Lawi manning the acoustic guitar, the Mango Band dished out spirited numbers.

The band performed over 10 tracks, including Life is Beautiful, Whistling Song, Amaona Kuchedwa and Ifeyo Ife.

Unlike many music shows where people are entirely taken to the dancefloor, the live experience coffered patrons with a rare opportunity to appreciate the immense talent of Lawi and his Mango Band.

To a certain extent, they could just shake their heads or wave in the air to show their admiration.

B o t h L a w i a n d organisers of the concert said they were impressed with the support rendered by fans to the inaugural event.

Lawi said: “This is amazing. Thank you very much for your support and supporting me.”
