After a day’s rest following their wearisome trip from the Comoros, Big Bullets resumed training on Friday in preparation for Saturday’s CAF Champions League preliminary round return-leg tie against Fomboni.

Bullets came out 1-0 victors in the first-leg played at Stade de Moroni in the Comoros courtesy of Tizgobere Kumwenda’s strike in added time.

The players still appeared worn out by the 22-hour road trip from Tanzania’s capital Dar es Salaam when they resumed training at Kamuzu Stadium. Coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan admitted that his charges were still in the process of recovery.

“Having arrived later in the afternoon of Wednesday, they only had one full day to rest, but unfortunately we do not have much time,” said Ramadhan.

Soon after the first-leg, Ramadhan said although his team struggled to win, Fomboni are not a difficult opponent.

“It was a tough game in which we scored through the last attempt probably because we underrated them, but they are not a difficult team

“We also missed a number of chances, but we will rectify our mistakes. Our 12th player [the supporters] will also give us an edge,” he said.

One of the players JaffalieChande said: “The elements of fatigue are still there, but I am certain we will pick up as we go along.”

Defenders Bashir Maunde and YamikaniFodya who suffered knocks during the first-leg are expected to start full-scale training this week, according to team doctor Godfrey Ghambi.
