Making the donation in Blantyre, Candlex marketing manager Dennis Valani said as a company that manufactures health and beautycare products, it felt duty bound to be associated with one of the most popular sporting disciplines in the world.

“Our products and boxing go along because for a boxer to be healthy and fit, he or she has to bath using Beautex soap and apply Bodycare lotion,” said Valani.

On his part, ABP director Robin Alufandika said the donation will go a long way to promote boxers who will take part in the fiesta.

“We have a lot of youngsters with potential that will take part in the event, but they lack such support and I would like to thank Candlex Limited for its timely gesture,” said Alufandika.

Meanwhile, Mwando has said fans will see a revitalised boxer in him on Saturday.

“I am aiming at a knockout, but for the sake of the fans I will delay it so as to give them a treat until the last rounds,” said the 25-year-old boxer.

Mwando has a record of nine wins and four losses while his opponent, Mwenyenye, 32, is one of the top boxers in Tanzania and boasts a record of six wins and one loss.

In the main supporting bout, Henry Muyaya will face John Mbenje. There will be six other semiprofessional bouts.n
