Carlsberg identifies Euro trip second winner

Carlsberg Malawi has identified Lilongwe-based resident Fortune Kanyemba as the second winner of Carlsberg 2016 Euro Promotion following a draw held in Blantyre on Friday.

This means the 32-year-old Metropolitan Health employee will have to choose a friend, 18-years-old or above, to travel along with to watch the France 2016 Uefa Euro Cup quarter-final game, according to Carlsberg Malawi senior brands manager (alcoholics) Twikale Chirwa.

After being notified about his luck through a telephone interview, Kanyemba said: “I am very happy with my success.”

Mchinji-based business person John Makondetsa became the first winner of the trip during the first draw in March and he will also have to choose a travelling partner. The last draw will be conducted on June 13 before the promotion, which starts on May 25, winds up two days later.

Consolation prizes include travelling bags, T-shirts,  soccer balls and sunglasses.

“The main objective of this promotion is to reward soccer loving Malawians for the support they give to our company,” Chirwa said.

He said they will spend about K20 million for the return air-tickets, match tickets, accomodation and food for the six individuals that will travel to France.

So far, the promotion has attracted16 000 entries. n
