CCL hosts Britam Social Football Tourney
Country Club Limbe (CCL) in Blantyre will tomorrow host the K500 000 Britam Southern Region (SR) Socials Invitational Football Tournament.
According to the organising committee chairperson Mabvuto Missi, everything is set for the four-team competition that will see FMB taking on Welcome Trust in the first game at 8:30am before SR Socials battle it out against Carlsberg Malawi.

“A draw was conducted on Wednesday in Blantyre and everything is set for the competition to roll into action,” said Missi.
During the draw, Britam Insurance Company’s marketing and product development manager, Serena Nkhoma, said the success of the inaugural competition will determine its.
“We are aware that social football provides a viable platform for interaction with our clients. If this inaugural contest, which is a pilot phase, becomes successful in terms of morale and players’ discipline, we will think of making it a national social football event next year,” she said.
Apart from the sponsorship, Britam has also donated 22 golf shirts, which will be presented to the technical panels of the teams, top goal scorer and player of the tournament.
Carslberg Malawi has also offered drinks to the participating teams while FMB will provide T-shirts.
As hosts, SR Socials, which comprises journalists and sports administrators, will use the event to prepare for Sports Administrators and Journalists (SAJ) National Tournament title defence next year. n
