Vice-President Saulos Chilima has condemned RBL Engineering who are the designers and supervisors of Tengani dyke for the poor construction work.

The dyke is built under the Shire River Basin Management Project.

Chilima today went to see the newly constructed dyke in the area of senior chief Tengani in Nsanje Central Constituency constructed with an aim of protecting people of the area from floods.

“This is a waste of resources. This dyke can be replaced after two years but you cannot replace people’s lives. It is even wasteful to call me from Blantyre to see this,” Chilima said.

Member of Parliament for the area Francis Kasaila was also present at the event.
