Chiperesa prescribes Malawi football cure

Football addict Bravo Chiperesa, a former Eagle Beaks coach, has prescribed what he thinks could cure ailing Malawi football in the next 50 years, including a suggestion to establish schools’ league.

“Primary, secondary and colleges should have their own respective sponsored leagues whether on district, regional or national level. Coaches and sports teachers of such schools and colleges should be drilled in quality coaching courses,” said Chipesera.

flamesThe man who groomed the likes of Flames defender Harry Nyirenda has written a seven-page diagnosis of the local game. He has been writing such documents dispatching them to all football stakeholders, including FAM, but as usual, he is often ignored.

The Zalewa Police officer-in-charge also suggests that Super League clubs must have youth sides, not reserve sides.

“The youth sides should be keeping young players for the main teams. Super League sides of young players must have their own sponsored league,” he says.

Chiperesa also suggests formation of district football leagues and construction of football facilities.

“Ground owners and football clubs should ensure proper mechanisms to safeguard gate collections from football crooks by engaging professional security and financial machinery,” he writes.

“Run football clubs as companies. Venture in different businesses. Football clubs should construct own football infrastructure so that the money remains in your club coffers,” he adds.

FAM technical director John Kaputa on Monday said he was yet to receive Chiperesa’s document, but “I know him, he has attended some of my coaching courses”.
