Namaka Primary School in Chiradzulu on Thursday won a World Vision International (WVI) sponsored HIV and Aids quiz competition.
The school beat another school, Malimba Primary 12-8 in finals that took place at Nyungwe Primary School in the district.
Namaka went away with various prizes such as chalk boards, exercise books, pens, plastic buckets, plastic cups, and footballs while participating players received school bags each.

Organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the competition attracted 10 primary schools.
Cluster manager for WVI Ben Chikaipa said the aim was to boost pupils’ interest in education.
“Uneducated people cannot contribute positively to the development of the country. We also want to encourage school committees and teachers to woo more children into school.

“We were impressed to see 207 pupils selected to secondary schools from these 10 primary schools. We want to see more children attend classes,” said Chikaipa.
WVI spent K2 million on the competition.
