Chiwamba collects fans’ top 10 poems

Poetry sensation Robert Chiwamba of the Udzafa Imfa Yowawa fame on January 8 asked his fans to send him a message of their best poems from him in preparation for his next collection.

“As I am going to the studio this year to record my second collection, I would like to ask each one of you to send me three best poems by me from last year…This research will help to give me a picture of how best I can give you what you want,” said Chiwamba.

And yesterday, the poet posted the findings of his research on Facebook.

Kwa Inu Ma Hope Anga Ndilira got 268 votes, Mudzafa Imfa Yowawa got 230, Adzaima Penapake got 102 and Ukamufunitsitsa Mkazi with the least votes on 36.

The artist then posted a vote of thanks to all who participated in the research.

“The research will help me to have a picture of what I have to include in my upcoming album. It has also helped me to understand the importance of some of the poems that I do not normally recite,” said Chiwamba.

He said he is motivated by the fact that most poems on the top of the list are in the upcoming album.
