Chiwandira AY District cheers children at Queens

In its quest to fulfil one of its objectives in Adventure Law of ‘I will be helpful,’ the Adventist Youth (AY) from Chiwandira District of the Seventh Day Adventist of Nancholi in Blantyre last Sunday donated assorted items to children’s wards at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (Qech).

The donation targeted 220 child patients in Malaria, Moyo, Nursery, Paediatric Surgical, Medical, Orthopaedic, Oncology and Nutrition Unit wards.

One of the team leaders, Comrade Alice Pete, said the donation was part of their commitment towards fulfilling God’s word and practising what they learn at AY club.

“We decided to make this donation as one way of doing what God requires us to do,” said Pete.

She added that as church-based youth, they put the welfare of children at heart.

Recognising the support they received from their parents and guardians, Pete said the support was overwhelming and describing it as the pillar of the whole charitable initiative.

“The help we got from our parents and guardians has played a greater role in fulfilling this action, therefore, we thank them immensely,” she said.

Chiwandira District is made up of Chiwandira, Manyowe, Namasimba, Dwale, Gaka, Pensulo, Namisusa and Nancholi churches.

The donation included sugar, Kamba puffs and soaps. n
