Ndirande Zambezi Evangelical Church in Blantyre has embarked on various activities to raise funds to buy a bus to ease mobility for the church’s groups.

Resident pastor Richard Chatepa, accompanied by church elder Peter Mateya Bonga told Nation on Sunday in an interview that they face mobility challenges when visiting hospitals, prisons, orphanages and other places, hence the decision to acquire a bus.

“Currently, we have raised K8 million to buy a bus. We have a shortfall to acquire the bus, so, we have organised a dinner at Protea Ryalls on August 6.

“The church raised K8 million through membership contributions, Big Paper Sunday events, dinners, among many other activities,” said Chatepa.

He said without proper transport, it is difficult for church members to reach out and assists less privileged groups.

The pastor said the church would continue seeking the support of well-wishers towards the noble cause as it needs more than K10 million to buy the bus. n
