Coaches committee to conduct preparatory course in CK

The Southern Region Coaches Committee (SRCC) will conduct a preparatory C Licence coaching course in Chikhwawa from June 6-9.

SRCC general secretary Aubrey Nankhuni said the course, which has been funded by Azam Tigers technical director Robin Alufandika to the tune of K100 000 (about $250), is aimed at empowering district coaches with basic coaching skills.

Alufandika said similar courses have already been held in Blantyre and Mulanje.

“Funds permitting, our aim is to reach out to all the districts. What we have established is that there are so many aspiring coaches in the districts who lack training,” said Nankhuni.

He appealed to organisations and institutions to emulate Alufandika’s gesture by funding courses in other districts.

“This is the second time that Alufandika has funded a preparatory course as he also donated a similar amount during the previous one held in Blantyre,” said Nankhuni.

Alufandika said his aim is for the country to have a pool of qualified coaches.

“This is my little way of contributing towards the development of the game,” he said.
