Customer care key to business success

One of the country’s renowned women entrepreneurs Nizia Ndhlovu Chilenga has advised fellow entrepreneurs to prioritise customer care if Malawian businesses are to build a large customer base.

In an interview on Wednesday, Chilenga, who is also founder of multilateral service company Greenland Services, said customer care is key to business success as it is only happy customers who buy from you and would want to make another purchase, thereby helping in business growth.

“While it is difficult to start a business without capital, it is much more difficult to stay in business without customer care skills.  The way you handle a customer will determine whether the customer buys from you or not,” she said.

In a separate interview, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism spokesperson Wiskes Nkombezi, said it is important that local producers appeal to Malawian consumers.

Based at the Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds in Blantyre, Greenland Services has many outlets across the country.
