Farmers across the country stand to boost their output, courtesy of a partnership between Malawi Enterprise Development Fund (Medf) and Smallholder Farmers Fertiliser Revolving Fund of Malawi (SFFRFM) in the supply of farm inputs.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of the agreement on Monday, SFFRFM chief executive officer (CEO) Andy Kalinde noted that business in today’s world is all about synergy. He said this particular one is for the supply of farm inputs to Medf.

“Through this synergy we will work together to ensure that the farm inputs are closer to the farmers at the time they are required.

“Medf will take the responsibility of working with the farmers and providing fertiliser to them at the right time and in the right quantities which they would require,” said Kalinde.

Medf CEO Mervis Mangulenje said the new arrangement will help farmers to increase their output as they will now have access to farm inputs including fertilizer from SFFRFM through Medf.

“We want to increase our outreach to our farmers for them to be able to access farm inputs,” she said.
