The Flames have been drawn against Mozambique’s Mambas in the quarter-finals of the Cosafa Cup to be staged in South Africa.

According to a draw held in Johannesburg on Thursday, the Flames will face Mambas on May 24 in North West Province.

Flames_afcon_celebrationWhile describing the draw as fair, Flames assistant coach Jack Chamangwana said they would have loved if the Flames were involved in the preliminary stages to give players more international exposure.

“Nevertheless, it is a fair draw considering that both us and Mozambique will not be involved in the preliminaries and thus no team will have an advantage over the other,” said Chamangwana.

In another quarter-final match, South Africa have been drawn against Botswana while one of the two guest participants Ghana will take on Group B winners. Zambia will face Group A winners.

Group A of the preliminaries has Namibia, Lesotho, Zimbabwe and Tanzania while Group B has the Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritus and Swaziland.
