Belgian coach Ronny Van Geneugden jetted into the country last evening to take up the position of Flames coach.

The coach and his agent Antonio Carlo, arrived at 14:10 at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in Lilongwe on a Kenya Airways flight before connecting to Blantyre on a domestic flight which touched down at Chileka Airport at 18:10.

Van Geneugden: It feels good
He was welcomed by Football Association to Malawi (FAM) general secretary (GS) Alfred Gunda.
Van Geneugden did not take questions, promising to talk to the media on Saturday during the unveiling ceremony.
But on his first time in Malawi, the Belgian only said ‘it feels good,’ before he was whisked into a waiting FAM vehicle.

Commenting on the coach’s engagement football analyst Charles Nyirenda said he has doubts.
“Thom [Saintfet] was here before from Belgium as well. He briefly gave us a hint of what Belgium has to offer. Our game was modelled on the Brazilian style after Wonder Morreira’s stint way back in 1974 to 1976.

“It is a brand that is sweet to the eye, but effective also, in which players are allowed the freedom to express themselves. Our style is not compatible with the Belgian style of play,” he said
The Belgian’s last management job was at Enosis Neon Paralimni FC in the Cypriot First Division. 
