Media reports from South Africa indicate that Flames and Nyasa Big Bullets tough-as-a-teak defender Miracle Gabeya and Italian forward Gustavo Paez have shown early promise during their trials at South African glamour side Kaizer Chiefs.

According to South African leading online publication kickoff.com, the duo has made an early impression compared to the other two trialists—Brazilian defender Pedro Henrique Dias DeAmorim and Ismael Olivier Toure of Cote d’ Ivoire.

Has been solid at training: Gabeya

“The pair are currently training at Naturena with the view to possibly land contracts.

“Information gathered by kickoff.com is that Paez has ‘Alexis Sanchez’ qualities in his game as he is direct and fast. He scored in a friendly match for Chiefs this week and has travelled with the squad for their mid-season camp in Potchefstroom.

“With regards to Gabeya, the centre-back has been solid at training and his signing will be all dependent on what happens with Lorenzo Gordinho’s trial at Danish club Aalborg BK,” reads part of the report posted yesterday.

However, Bullets chairperson Noel Lipipa yesterday said they were yet to get an update on the progress of their defender.

“We will not do anything that will be viewed as if we are interfering in the process, suffice to say we wish him all the best and the reports that he is doing well are encouraging,” he said.  nss
