Gemini Major thrives in SA
South-Africa-based Malawian urban artist, Benn Gilbert Kamoto, popularly known as Gemini Major, is living his moment of apogee as his music career continues to flourish.
The singer has recently gained recognition and dominated the regional showbiz in collaborations with rapper Ricky Rick and popular Nigerian artist, Davido in a track Murdah and featuring music kingpin Patoranking in the song Bang Bang.
Commenting on the artist’s musical exploits in the West African country, naijavibes.com, editor Kelvin Jasper said: “I don’t want to give people half-backed stuff. He is a full artist that Africa should depend on.”

The dancehall star has finally released his single Bang Bang, a song he did alongside Nigerian music icon Patoranking.
The song was produced by Psyko Beats and mixed by Dellz.
The track Bang Bang is his second release this year although the song was made last year.
The Ragga Ragga hit-maker told The Nation this week that it is a clear confirmation that hard work pays off.
“We put on a lot of work and it is paying off. It is important to have international exposure. We can’t measure our growth if we don’t work with other eminent artists,” he said.
Recently, South Africa celebrity magazine The Drum quoted Cassper Nyovest, who is a leading recording hip hop artist as heaping praises on the Malawian-born-and-bred artist.
“Gemini Major the producer doesn’t get enough props for his impact on South Africa hip hop. Well, producers in general but Gemini is a hit maker!!! He is that dude!!!” tweeted Cassper.
Gemini Major was born in June 1990. He finished his high school in 2007 and later graduated in Information Technology (IT) in 2009. In the same year he moved to Durban, South Africa to pursue his dream as an artist and record producer.
In 2015, he was signed to Family Tree Label which is owned by South African award -winning rapper, Cassper Nyovest.
In the same year, Gemini Major was nominated for Producer of the year at South Africa hip hop Awards alongside South Africa’s best hip hop producers such as Anatti, Riky Rick, Ganja Beats and Tweezy.
Among other achievements, Gemini Major received a Rising Star Award at Malawi Achievers Awards-South Africa which took place in Scarlet Ribbon in Johannesburg in 2017.
He has produced tracks for many artist including Cassper Nyovest, Khuli Chana, Riky Rick and Nasty C.
