Globe entrepreneurs network ‘Startup Grind’ now in Malawi

A network of entrepreneurs called Startup Grind that connects over one million business people from over 200 cities in the world is set to be rolled in Malawi.

Making the announcement, Startup Grind Chapter Director Anganile Ngwira said the network is a largest independent platform that connects a lot of entrepreneurs worldwide.

“We nurture startup ecosystems in over 98 countries through events, media, and partnerships with organizations like Google for Entrepreneurs. The cornerstone of our global community are monthly events featuring successfully all founders, innovators, educators and investors who share lessons learned on the road to building great companies,” said Ngwira.

Chapter Director added that the entrepreneurs’ network has enabled the world register tremendous change in terms of economic growth over the years globally.

“We have since featured some of the best entrepreneurs, venture capitalist and thought leaders from around the word. Entrepreneurs like Jan Koum who is the founder of Whats App and Daphne Koller founder of Courserahave shared their inspirational stories on Startup Grind signature fireside events,” he said adding that the platform has helped to connect startups to venture capitalists like Ben Horowitz of Andreeseen Horowitz and Vinod Khosla of Khosla Ventures.

Besides, Ngwira pointed out that Malawi stand to benefit from this ecosystem in the form of attracting foreign direct investments through venture capitalist but also building a vibrant entrepreneurship ecosystem that can effectively harness unique demographic dividend to create jobs and capital.

“Startup Grind Blantyre which is set to launch this July is yet another milestone and good news to entrepreneurs within the city to interact and mobilize the much needed capital to build a lasting legacy for themselves,” explained Chapter Director pointing out that plans are at an advanced stage for the grand launch of the event which promises to unveil some of the best technologies and entrepreneurs within the city and beyond.

Founded in Silicon Valley, Startup Grind has now hosted 5,000 fireside chats since its inception in 2010. To date, Startup Grind helped millions of entrepreneurs find mentorship, connect to partners and hires, pursue funding, and reach new users.
