Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development, I would not have defied a court order and sneak out to Germany on official duties.

As a lawyer, I would appreciate the importance of respecting court orders under any circumstance.

Oh yes, if only I happened to be in Chaponda’s shoes, I would realise that the more I antagonise myself on the maize import deal, the more I am misunderstood my the public.

If only I were Dr Chaponda, I would appreciate that the most crucial thing now should be for me to clear my name over whatever allegations have been levelled against me and you do not do that by being arrogant.

How I wish I were my learned man because I would appreciate that the picture I am painting is that I am above the law which does not reflect well on me.

That is if only I were ‘Bulldozer’, the man who is trying to bulldoze his way by being on the wrong side of the law. Luckily, I am not that honourable gentleman. n
