If I were Patricia Kaliati

Minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, I would realise that it is not only married men who spend time on social media, but married women as well.

If I were my ‘valentine’, I would appreciate that some husbands are also denied quality time by their wives who are into social media to the point of kuphyeleretsa ndiwo (burning a meal to a crisp).

Oh yes, if only I were Akweni, I would realise that even men are denied massage sessions by their better halves who are often glued to their smart phones.

How I wish I were Hon Patricia Kaliati, because I would realise that there are men who are tortured to the limit by going for weeks or months without getting the ‘feel’ of their honey pies because they are preoccupied with social media.

I would also realise that as a minister responsible for gender, I should be raising issues that affect men, not only women.

That is if only I were madam Kaliati. Unfortunately, I am only her valentine.
