What is the conference all about?

This is going to be an interdenominational youth conference organised to teach moral values to the youth and to respond to their spiritual need for Christ.

What do you intend to achieve?

Through the theme: “The re-emergence of the star”, we want to encourage the youth to allow the star within them to emerge. We intend to empower the youth on entrepreneurship, self-discipline and how to deal with peer pressure, among others, so that they realise their dreams and become useful citizens.

How helpful are these conferences?

They are helpful in that for the past years the youth have been motivated on career choice and some have been saved from immoral behaviour that could have destroyed their future. We have stories of the youth who used to be alcoholics, drug addicts or even prostitutes, but now they live normal lives.

By the way, who is Pastor Akinola Fowowe?

I am the General Overseer of Word Ambassadors Ministries, a church whose Headquarters is at Kudya in Blantyre.

For how long has the ministry been running?

This Ministry started in Malawi seven years ago and we have branches in Zomba, Lilongwe and in Nigeria.

How did the ministry start?

It started by divine revelation from heaven; to give hope to the hopeless, life to the lifeless and raise people from poverty to prosperity.

How unique is this ministry from other Pentecostal churches?

This ministry is God’s Spirit led and word-based. It has the environment of God’s presence.

Apart from teaching the word of God and engaging in the youth, what else do you do?

We also conduct motivational talks, marriage counselling for members and all interested parties.

Any other word?

Yes. I believe the youth in the country need help, they need someone to talk to on various challenges of life, but the society seems to have neglected that aspect. I encourage communities to realise its commitment to the youth and help them realise their dreams.n
