Central Region Football League (CRFL) chairperson Dean Josiah-Banda was on Saturday elected Civo United vice-chairperson at the club’s annual general meeting in Lilongwe.

Banda, who was elected in absentia, replaces Aubrey Kufeyani.

According to information from the club, the positions of chairperson, treasurer and general secretary are appointed by the Office of President and Cabinet (OPC), but it is not known yet when that will be done.

Charles Gwengwe is Civo’s new vice-general secretary whereas executive members are Nelson Ngalonde, Zinyemba Soko and Owen Malijani.

Guest of honour at the AGM was Mary Shaba who is chairperson of Civo Development Committee (CDC).

Shaba challenged the new office bearers to inspire Civo to win more silverware.

“It is high time the team started bringing more silverware to the sponsors because we are working tirelessly to see that the welfare of the players is improved,” said Shaba.

Banda is owner and patron of Super League outfit Epac FC and CRFL Premier Division side Mtsiliza United.
