If I were

Joyce Banda

President of the People’s Party (PP), I would appreciate that the confusion regarding leadership in my party is a result of my ‘self-imposed’ exile.

If I were my good ol’ mom that is JB, I would realise for once that my absence has led to all the comedy surrounding my party leadership because it is operating like a ship without a captain—with no clear sense of direction.

Oh yes, if only I were the PP leader, I would dig deep into my heart and conduct some soul-searching surrounding the disturbing events in the party which have led to five senior party leaders quitting including four vice-presidents.

If I were Amayi (JB), I would spare some time to come back home briefly and sort out the mess in the party because it seems too big for fellows such as vice-president for the central Region ‘Chenji Golo’ Uladi Mussa and secretary general Ibrahim Matola to handle.

How I wish I were one Joyce Hilda Mtila-Banda, I would appreciate that when I, as president of the party and my SG, contradict on the position of Kachali then it exposes glaring communication breakdown in the party as a result of my prolonged absence.

That is of course, if I were Joyce Banda, unfortunately I am not her. PPPPPP!!! Odi uko! Amayi adutseko!
