Kalulu, Banda are UGI golf champions

Mike Kalulu braved the sunny weather of Thyolo Sports Club greens on Sunday to be crowned champion of the annual UGI Golf Tournament.

Kalulu had two birdies on holes number nine and 10 to give him a comfortable victory.

He defeated other 44 golfers that were drawn from across the country.

In the women’s category, Carol Banda emerged the best.

According to Elias Richard Chipuwa, an official from UGI, the company decided to hold the event on behalf of its client Makandi Tea Estates and Coffee Limited.

He said UGI also wanted to interact with its various clients apart from those from Makandi.

“We are proud to be associated with Makandi since 15 years ago. This relationship will continue and we promise that more events are likely next year,” said Chipuwa
