Flames veteran striker Esau Kanyenda believes it is a matter of time before he extends for two more years his contract at South Africa Premiership side Polokwane City.

Kanyenda, whose contract ends in June, has been the subject of interest from other South African as well as Mozambican teams who enticed him with more perks.

Earlier Kanyenda had told The Nation that, in view of the interest from other outfits, he would decide his Polokwane future later. The current transfer window in South Africa closes on January 30 2015.

However, on Friday, the burly forward said “the chairperson of our team told me that I am not going anywhere, so it is just a matter of time before I extend the contract. I take it as my second home”.

Liga Desportivo de Maputo of Mozambique and Moroka Swallows in South Africa were believed to be some of the teams that showed interest in Kanyenda. The Mozambican team’s scout James Nelito Pondamale recently confirmed the interest in the striker who impressed on recall to the Flames.

Meanwhile, Greece-based midfielder Tawonga Chimodzi is undecided about whether to listen to offers from other second-tier teams or stay at Iraklis Psachna.

Chimodzi, who has bounced back from a serious injury and has scored two goals in four matches, had his deal with another Greece club terminated last year after failing a medical test as he was diagnosed with a serious knee injury.

“There has been some interest also from teams in the same division, but I am with my team for now. I am really humbled by the progression,” he said.
