Situma will lead the Get Into Rugby Training from May 6 to 11 2015, hosts Rugby Football Union of Malawi (Rfum) forwards’ coach Russell Suter confirmed yesterday. The programme aims at developing grass roots rugby.

“He will work with members of Rfum and Malawian rugby coaches to deliver Get Into Rugby training and then Level One Rugby Coaching,” explained Suter, who is also Rfum development officer.

“This is a great opportunity for Malawi and will allow us to roll the ‘Get into rugby’ course out into schools. It will also allow a large number of new rugby coaches to be trained.”

Meanwhile, Rfum will for two weeks host a travelling group of rugby coaches in Lilongwe .

The group is visiting Africa under the banner Bhupesi Pride Foundation next week.

They will introduce rugby in schools.

The foundation assembles teams of committed volunteers to carry out annual rugby coaching expeditions, using the sport as a tool for education and development in Africa.

Suter added that the visitors will also link up with Luke Coulson of Lilongwe Rugby Club and coaches from rugby clubs of Lilongwe, Ndirande and Luchenza.
