Kondwani was overcome with happiness.

“It’s been a great day for me to have won against some good golfers. I thank my playing partners and also thank Umodzi Park management for organising this tournament,” said Kondwani.

Umodzi Park general manager David Church said apart from being a leisure activity for golfers, the sport has the potential to bring  tourists in the country because it is a massive global sport.

“We made it a commitment in December  last year that we will be involved in the development of golf in the country. We want to make sure we keep up that promise,” he said.

Church also expressed satisfaction with the patronage and described the atmosphere on Saturday as great.
