If I were

Levi Nyondo

General Secretary of the Church of Central African Presbyterian (CCAP) Synod of Livingstonia, I would appreciate that public holidays are only sanctioned by government and, therefore, had to observe Eid ul-Fitr.

If I were the man of God that is the Reverend Nyondo, I would realise that asking the synod workers to report for work on a public holiday was a violation of their rights as citizens of this country.

Oh yes, if I were the synod  boss, I would appreciate that much as the synod is an independent entity, there are certain national laws and orders that need to be respected.

How I wish I were Nyondo because I would appreciate that while the synod does not recognise such holidays, as long as they are set by government, they are supposed to be honoured.

That is, of course, if I were the Reverend Nyondo but alas! I am not the Livingstonia Synod boss.
