Mafco will not slide—Gondwe

Mafco FC coach Stereo Gondwe has insisted that despite their two losses, which dented the team’s bright start to the 2015/16 season, they will recover and start winning this weekend.
Gondwe said this in an interview with The Nation on Wednesday in Salima.
Mafco lost to Blue Eagles 0-1 away and also 2-1 to Be Forward Wanderers at its home ground in Dwangwa in Nkhotakota thereby dropping six points and relinquishing leadership to Wanderers.

‘I know that the topic has been about our recent loses and people think we are sliding. We have the mental attitude to do that and achieve success. We had opportunities to salvage points both against Wanderers and Blue Eagles, but we were a bit careless,” said Gondwe, who has set the league title as his target this year.
Mafco will be travelling to Blantyre in the sixth week of the league where they will face Big Bullets FC and Surestream on Saturday and Sunday respectively at Kamuzu Stadium.
“We have managed to win away games before so it is not like we are afraid. We will play our usual attacking game and hope to bring results. Like I said, we are still a good team and can match any team,” he said.
However, it remains to be seen if Gondwe will be part of the Mafco squad travelling to Blantyre as he is in-charge of football activities at the ongoing Inter Unit Sports Festivals in Salima.
Mafco are currently second on the log table with 11 points 2 points behind Wanderers.
