Limbani Masamba and Enerst Msoliza will face-off in a non-title bout at Lilongwe Community Centre (LCC) ground on Monday. However, it seems the popularity of Mr. Malawi Bodybuilding Championships third-place holder Yasin ‘Ichocho’ Suwedi will be the toast of the day.

According to director of Superior Boxing Promotions Japhet Majekete, Ichocho, who will display some of his bodybuilding skills to spice up the eight-round fight, has for quite a long time been the most sought after athlete by the Lilongwe boxing fans.

“Ichocho is a household name in Lilongwe and almost every sports fan longs to see why the bodybuilder is so popular. They want to appreciate his skills. When he failed to turn up the last time we organised a similar event, people were very angry with us but now we assure them that he will be available,” said Majekete.

Asked why he feels Ichocho attracts such attention when the country has a number of other bodybuilders, Majekete said “Ichocho is one of the very few bodybuilders that show themselves up and are willing to interact with people through displays of skills in public.”

On his part, Ichocho said he is ready to satisfy hearts of his Lilongwe fans and he has promised to give out his best his displays.

Apart from Ichocho’s displays, the Masamba-Msoliza fight will also be preceded by a six-round main supporting bout between Salimu Chazama and Acras Mchombo.
