Urban musician Maskal, real name Masiye Kasalu, will on Saturday perform alongside Blantyre-based hip-hop outfit, Daredevils during the second eviction of the Sunbird Search for a Star singing competition.

Sunbird Tourism public relations officer Akossah Mphepo said fans should not miss the show scheduled for Sunbird Mount Soche’s Njamba Room.

“We are this week having hot musicians in urban music; so it is a show they can’t afford to miss and there might be surprises too,” she said, adding that people should vote for their favourite contestants.

Maskal of the Udalire and Zili ndi Iwe fame will be performing at the show fresh from a trip to South Africa where he performed a number of shows while the Daredevils duo of Marcus and Grey Pasanje will attract people with their hit Love is in the Air which is enjoying air play on local airwaves.

During the Saturday show, four contestants will be booted out of the competition.

Winner of the competition will get K500 000 (about $1 250) courtesy of Sunbird Tourism. The second-placed will pocket K300 000 while the third-placed will receive K200 000 (about $500).
