Stansfield Motors came second on 85 points and African Club finished third with 84 points.

According to convener and trustee Margaret Kubwalo-Chaika, principal sponsors of the golf tournament were Metropolitan Health, Masm, Gaffar Transport & Mchenga Mines, Catering Solutions, Knight Frank and Ulendo.

Other companies that sponsored teams and provided logistics   were G4S, Hotel Victoria, Premium Tama Tobacco, Alliance One, Malawi Mangoes, Africana Club, A.C. Opticals, Nkanga Essential Services, Candlex Malawi, Nedbank, Lilongwe Golf Club, and Stansfield Motors.

Each team paid K75 000 to participate.

Founder of NdiMoyo, Lucy Finch, said the idea to hold the tournament came after observing that the organisation was facing financial challenges to provide medical and palliative care to its patients.

“We have no domestic funding. Most of our financial resources are from a single donor in the United Kingdom. We thought of this initiative to raise money locally to assist these patients who are into so much pain,” she said.
