Mbedza CCAP ordains 17 church elders
Reverend Hastings Likwa of Mbedza CCAP in Zomba has said church elders should be visionary, committed as well as disciplined if they are to discharge their duties with ease, joy and efficiency.
Likwa made the sentiments at his church on Sunday, when he confirmed 17 men and women who have been elected to be church elders for the next three years.
According to Likwa, God’s work is always difficult when church elders seek to serve own interests.
“Let us remember that God cannot come down from heaven to manage His flock. So He has appointed you to oversee His people until they reach maturity in Christ Jesus,” he said.
The reverend advised the new church elders take retired elders as their mentors and not enemies; hence, to seek guidance from them for the sustainability of the church’s services and development.
