Moyale Barracks in form striker Khuda Muyaba has been invited for trials at Tanzanian club Mbeya FC which is coached by former Flames coach Kinnah Phiri.

Phiri confirmed on Thursday that his team is interested in Muyaba to beef up the striking force which is currently struggling to score.

Muyaba: I will work hard

“The current squad is good, but we are lacking a finisher. We have, therefore, opted to get the Moyale striker who will be assessed during the pre-season games early December. It is my hope that he will make the grade,” he said.

Muyaba confirmed being approached by Phiri for a possible move to the Mbeya outfit, which already has Malawian defender Sankhani Mkandawire and goalkeeper Owen Chaima.

“I am working hard every day so that I should do better during the trials,” he said.

Muyaba has been in top form and made headlines after emerging second top goal scorer in this year’s Presidential Cup.

He scored 16 goals, three short of top goal scorer Richard Mbulu of Mafco FC.

So far, the Moyale striker has scored eight goals in the ongoing TNM Super League.

Meanwhile, Moyale Barracks team manager Gerald Kanje has said they will release the youthful striker.

“Of course, we are yet to get official communication from Mbeya FC. But we cannot block him. The Malawi Defence Force top management will do everything possible to help him go because that’s his lifetime chance,” he said. n
