It is now confirmed, the Chipiku Lilongwe and Districts Football League (LDFL) will promote a Malawi Defence Force (MDF) team to join the Super League next season.

League leaders Airborne Rangers or Support Battalion stand a chance to win the title.

The only civilian side that was in the title race, Hardknockers, lost ground when Kasungu Police held them to a goalless draw on Wednesday.

Hardknockers, who lie third with 67 points from 36 games, cannot dislodge Airborne at the top.

According to the log table, Airborne, with a seven-point gap, need a single win from their remaining three games to win the league.

They have 76 points from 35 games while Support Battalion are trailing them on 69 points. Battalion have also played 35 games.

Tomorrow, Airborne face Black Eagles who are on position 13 with 42 points whereas on Sunday, they will host Mchinji Boma Stars who are on position 11 with 48 points.

In their first-round meeting, Airborne bagged a single point from a possible six.

They drew 0-0 against Black Eagles at home and lost 2-0 to Mchinji Boma Stars in Mchinji.

Support Battalion will play Mchinji Boma Stars tomorrow while on Sunday they will play Hardknockers at Lilongwe Technical College.
