A mock wedding fundraiser that saw Ndirande-Kachere associate pastor Reverend Joel Sherbino and his wife Rabecca on Sunday repeating their marriage vows in aid of four choir groups travelling to Lusaka, Zambia in September raised K635 000 (about $918).

Moderator of the congregation for Ndirande-Kachere CCAP Reverend Enos Muhiwa described the event as memorable and well-organised.

“The event had a two-fold purpose—raising funds for the trip to Zambia and celebrating with Rev Joel and Rabecca Sherbino who have been with us for one year, and will be leaving for Canada in July.

“We had a colourful event, from the officiation by Reverend Matthias Hauya from Naotcha congregation to the reception,” said Muhiwa.

He said money will never be enough for people’s needs, adding that the Bible teaches us to be contented with whatever little one has (Philippians 4:11-12; 1 Timothy 6:6).

“So, as a believer,  I am contented with what we raised bearing in mind that we, as a nation, are going through difficult financial,” said Muhiwa.

In his sermon, Hauya reminded the congregation, especially those in marriage, to love and respect one another as a key of a happy marriage, saying God blesses the family that lives together always. n
