The 2014 Mr. Zomba Bodybuilding Championships slated for Gymkhana Club on December 21 has received a boost following the coming in of an additional sponsor called Teng-Du Investments.

According to Zomba Bodybuilding coordinator Bright Limani, the company has slotted about K100 000 into the event that secured K400 000 support from WT Food Zone last month.

While expressing happiness for the support they have obtained so far, Limani said they are in discussion with three other prospective sponsors to make it even more exciting.

“We are happy that more companies are coming in to support us. We are grateful and we hope other well-wishers will emulate this good gesture that will help to uplift the standards of the sport in the country,” he said.

Meanwhile, at least 20 bodybuilders, including former national weightlifting champion Thoko Kakhongwe, have put their names on the list of participants.

Last year, WT Food Zone bankrolled the inaugural event alongside Mervin Autoparts. Emmanuel Binauli is the current Mr. Zomba. He claimed the inaugural title at Gymkhana in 2013.
