MSC Black chalk first cricket win

Black lived up to their promise of ending their winless streak in the Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC) and Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) 20 overs league on Sunday when they thrashed hosts OCC in just 15 overs.

Black went into the game log table as anchors with no point from six outings, but they have now enhanced their tally to two points from seven games after they confined OCC to a 71 runs all-out defeat.

Nevertheless, they are still at the bottom of the eight-team log table.

The team’s captain Noran Wali Mohamed, whose side had Salman Khan claiming three wickets, said they are relieved that they have finally earned a victory.

“It had been a tough ride for us. But little by little, we are improving our class. We have no doubt that we would also win our last match of the league against Grey Blue this Sunday,” said Mohamed.

In another encounter at OCC, Silver tormented Grey with 88-runs in just 9.4 overs to strengthen their third position on the ladder. They have 10-points from six matches.

Aasif Rustam and Mubssir Amaji contributed 52 and 23 runs in Silver’s triumph while Yasin Limdawala took three wickets.

At MSC, Gold beat Blue by 90 runs in just 10.4 overs while Blue sweated to earn those runs all out in 20 overs.

Sadik Bhathi and Imran Dalal took three wickets each for Gold.

This weekend, MSC Gold will face OCC. At the OCC, MSC Orange will take on MSC Grey.
